Another month has come and gone, and it feels like we’re knocking on the door of summer here in the Eastern Sierra. Smooth singletrack and the dusty smell of dirt trails are hitting pretty hard right now.
I’m back with another monthly update on what’s happening at Dera.
Size Samples Are Here
Up until now, all the belts you’ve seen have been in a size medium. Although some of the original prototypes for friends were in other sizes, we focused on perfecting the medium with our factory before moving to the rest of the size range.
This month, that changed with the arrival of a full size run of belts—from extra small to extra large.
Last weekend, we took the small size out for photos in some canyons just north of us.
And just this morning, a friend took the extra small belt out for a 25-mile long run here at home.
Stay tuned for more photos of runners in the rest of the belt sizes.
What’s Up Next?
By this time next month, the belts will have left the factory and will be just days away from landing here in Mammoth. Once we have them in hand, we’ll open orders for our email list—no lengthy pre-order phase or month-long wait times. Within a week, you’ll have the belt in hand.
See You This Summer?
Last year’s first annual Mountain Tiger Donner Summit was one of my favorite races of 2025. Dera is going to be in attendance this year, and registration just opened. Maybe we’ll see you there?
We’ll also be at Mammoth Trailfest in September. There are still spots available in the Dragon’s Back Ascent and Tenkay—or you can hop on the waitlist for one of the longer races. This is a can’t-miss event.
I’m getting ready to record some videos about the belt for our website and Instagram. Is there anything you want to see us dive deep on? Let me know.
Thank you for being here.
